Aiden was one of the first people who introduced himself to me when I made the switch from private elementary and middle school to Northview. We rode the same bus, and he invited me to sit with him and some of the people I still call my close friends. When we met I instantly felt like I knew him my whole life. Aiden and I became especially close when Covid hit. We were together almost every day while school was online, doing random things like rollerblading, biking, or making a huge bonfire in the Carter’s backyard.
In the 3 years that I knew Aiden, he made a huge impact on me that still affects me in my daily life. Aiden is who inspired me to get in the gym and workout on a more regular schedule. Every few days I will have a random memory of something dumb Aiden said, or as Mr. Carter likes to call them, his Aidenisms. I want to say this was over the summer of 2022, I watched him put a spoon in the microwave with the mac n cheese we were making. I asked him about it and he told me that he didn’t know metal wasn’t supposed to go into the microwave. This was just one of the things that makes me laugh to myself because he was genuinely one of the smartest people I know, but he was 17 before he knew not to microwave metal.
Aiden and I have made some of my fondest memories together and I am so grateful for the time we spent together. I’m glad we never took a moment we had together for granted.
I miss and love you kid.
